Most of these are/were partscasters assembled from various bodies, necks, pickups, bridge assemblies, etc. Down to 2 currently
Favorite Body: Current 3.7 lb. Alder 60s Road Worn - great sustain, don't have to worry about dings, and whole guitar weighs < than 7 lbs.
Favorite Neck: USACG 7.25 x 9.5 in. compound radius rosewood fretboard 6105 frets, big headstock, vintage tuners, top adjust
This neck was on almost every 'caster at least once. Had to sell it finally when things got really tight once :( The DeLonge neck isn't bad
Tried V, D, C, shaped necks. Robert Cray was the biggest. Prefer top adjust and med-jumbo frets. Compound radius is nice, 12"+ is too flat
Favorite Pickups: Hard to say, but using custom Sklar 70s currently. Have tried: Klein, CS 54, CS 50, CS 69, Noiseless, Tex-Mex, Duncans,
Stew-Mac, GFS, CS Texas Specials, Brandonwound, Fralin, CS 57/62, Lace, Rio Grande, stock Mexican (ceramic,50s,60s,70s), & stock USAs
Favorite Bridge: 2-point trems on the Americans, they tune easier; vintage trem: Hwy 1 post-2006 (wide screw-narrow string, steel block)
Favorite Tuners: Gotoh or Ping vintage with hole down center of post
Favorite Color: Vintage white :)
Of Note: Most of the Mexican and Hwy 1 bodies were rather dull. Luck of the draw: 60s Road Worn, Classic 70s, and Jeff Beck
In no particular order.... (click on pic for larger pic)
