Extremely rare, in magnificent condition, a cased pair of "J.P. Lower" Philadelphia style Derringers. Calibre .41, 3" brown-finished barrels marked: "JP Lower". German silver front sights and silver banding at breeches. Case is excellent with light age wear present and evidence of minor fading and wear to the lining. J.P. Lower, born in 1833 came to Denver, Colorado in 1868. The name "J.P. Lower" became famous throughout the Western Frontier as a gunmaker. Finding an original cased pair of "J.P. Lower" Derringers is rare indeed. This set certainly qualifies as "Blue Chip" in the antique arms investment field.
