Original cased set of William Parker Flintlock Pistols

This beautiful set is extremely rare by virtue of their magnificent, untouched condition, large size and wonderful provenance. The case measures 20 ½” x8 ½”. The barrels are 10 ½”, pistols’ overall length is 17 ½”. The calibre .69.
William Parker was a London gun maker Circa: 1790-1830. Parker guns were represented in the British Military, at the forming of the London Police Dept in 1820. William Parker also made trade guns for the famous Hudson Bay Company.
This set was personally owned by Capt. Peter Procter, of “His Majesty’s Royal Navy”.
View the photograph of the lid. Much history is recorded about Capt Procter, who was the Capt. of the “ HMS Thistle”. The Thistle was a 10 gun, fast moving schooner that had numerous successful engagements that are detailed in “Sailing Ships of the Royal Navy”. Also “Naval History” by William James. The “Thistle” went down off the coast of New York, March 6, 1811.
It would be most difficult to find a finer, original, well provenanced set of flintlock dueling pistols for the serious collector and investor.
