One of the finest pairs of Wilson Flintlock Pistols
William, W.H. Wilson, was a famous gunmaker; Circa: 1760-1800, (approx) in the Minories, London. Wilson made many different types of flintlock weapons, including box lock double barrel guns, Queen Anne type coach pistols and flintlock repeating pistols with a magazine of powder and ball in the butt stock. Wilson also made the Ferguson flintlock breech loading rifle. Under Royal Government Contract made brass barrel flintlock boarding pistols for His Majesty's Royal Navy.
This beautiful, untouched set of pistols represents an exquisite example of this London gunmaker's art. The gold inlay at the top of the barrel reads: W H Wilson, London. All components are original, as is the lining. Both pistols have the original ramrods. The label in the lid is still quite readable. Rare indeed is an opportunity to acquire an original and complete cased flintlock set by a quality London gunmaker. All inquiries welcome.
